Three weeks have passed since the last measures imposed by the Government of Kosovo to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and it is evident that the limitation of working hours has not affected the decline in the number of infected on a daily basis! This situation is disabling the normal operation of businesses in this extremely challenging period when financial losses are large and the safety of citizens and staff at points of sale is vital. Therefore, we consider it essential to extend the allowed working hours, especially taking into account the end of the year holidays, as well as to unify the working hours for all municipalities.
However, today we were further informed about the financial support based on the new support package, specifically based on the Draft Law on Economic Recovery, which will be worth 200-220 million euros, including other facilities proposed as necessary from the Retail Network from the beginning of this situation, which is the reduction of VAT from 18% to 8% for the HoReCa sector. These funds will be distributed in the first quarter of 2021, which will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the country’s economy to preserve jobs and guarantee the smooth running of economic activities.
