RETAIL ASSOCIATION WELCOMES THE CENTRAL BANK’S DECISION TO MAKE PAYMENTS THROUGH POS TERMINALS, AT NO ADDITIONAL COST.

The Retail Association welcomes the Central Bank’s decision to make payments through POS terminals, at no additional cost.

Based on regional and EU practices, the Retail Network has consistently placed special emphasis on the issue of unification of POSs, exchange rates and POS fees of one bank to another, therefore , The amendment of the “Regulation on Electronic Payment Instruments”, which is expected to enter into force on February 1, 2020 is undoubtedly an achievement to commend the work of the CBK.

Tariff by not involving costs to the user for card transactions for payment of goods or services in POS terminals of financial institutions operating in Kosovo, we believe will have an impact not only on current customers or users of the card but will also enable increase the use of cards as a more efficient service for making payments.

In conclusion, the Retail Association believes that cooperation with the CBK and other State Institutions will not be lacking in the future.
